Social media continues to evolve and change the way we work, communicate, and interact with our customers, clients, and subscribers. While social media creates new opportunities for communication and interaction, it also creates new responsibilities for you and risks for both you and Tacony Corporation (including our subsidiaries and affiliates: Baby Lock Sewing Machines and Accessories, Madeira Thread, Koala Furniture, Powr-Flite Vacuums, Tornado Vaccuums, Simplicity Vacuums, and Riccar Vacuums, collectively, the “Company”). These guidelines apply to your usage of any social media channels for any Company entity.

The Company is committed to providing a digital place for makers to feel welcome, celebrated and inspired to create.

Social media includes any digital technology that enables people to create and share content and opinions in conversations over the internet. This includes Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Youtube, Flickr and Instagram, among others, and blogs, wikis and comments included on websites reviewing products and services.

These guidelines are written in a less formal, more conversational tone than some of our other policies and guidelines but that does not make them any less important. Failure to follow these guidelines when using social media could have serious consequences for the Company and you, up to termination of your account in accordance with applicable law.

Moreover, as page owners, we hold the right to monitor comments, conversations and posts left on any Company page. Our team actively monitors to ensure this channel remains a respectful and inspirational environment for everyone who visits.

Comments, conversations and posts left by makers may be removed from our page if they violate our guidelines or those provided by Facebook:

  • Offensive, insensitive or inappropriate comments
  • Silencing and intimidation communication towards a maker of specific gender identity, ethnicity or background
  • Hate speech of any kind (racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, etc.)
  • Fraudulent and misleading information
  • Sharing and promoting illegal activity
  • Unauthorized communication resulting in spamming makers

In other words, always be fair and courteous. Never post or forward content that could be considered offensive, malicious, obscene, harassing or threatening to any readers or viewers, including fellow customers, clients or subscribers. For example, never post anything meant to harm someone's personal or professional reputation or jokes based on race, sex, religion or disability.

To avoid violations of privacy, copyright and trademark laws, do not post audio, video, pictures or other content without the consent of those owning or appearing in the media. When quoting copyrighted work be sure to credit the original source and, if appropriate, add a link.

The Company expects our fans and visitors of our page to respect the dignity of others. The Company does not tolerate and explicitly reserves the rights to delete comments that go against our community guidelines. By using and accessing any Company social media page(s), you agree to comply with these guidelines as well as those platform’s applicable terms and conditions.

When discussing any topics relevant to Company be clear who you are and include your affiliation with Company, if any. Never use fake aliases or create fake posts to positively or negatively mislead readers. Quickly correct mistakes and be open about previous posts that have been altered.

The Company may post and share content with the connection of third-party websites, services, makers and/or content. The information and opinions expressed on this page are not necessarily the opinions of the Company and we assume no responsibility for such content.

We welcome creative expression, questions and suggestions. If you have a customer service issue, please contact our support team through this link www.tacony.com/contact.html so, we can further assist and resolve the situation.
